The Slaters Back On Form
Vital 3 points gained
Delabole travelled away again to bottom 4 team Packhorse Athletic are were looking to get back to winning form but were without many players for this game.
The manager Dave Barrett had to change the formation of his side to a 4-5-1 to bolster up the midfield that was missing some key players. This change of tactic worked and the team performed accordingly with a fantastic result travelling with only a squad of 13 players. Luke King
got onto the scoresheet with his 8th goal of the season in the 12th minute then 8 minutes before the break Kieran Barrett
scored a thunderbolt of a free kick making the score at halftime 0-2 to The Slaters.
Neither team in the second half were to add to the scoreline and the game finished 0-2 to Delabole.
The game was a scrappy one but The Slaters thoroughly deserved the win and the team that played should be delighted with the result and they way that they reignited the push to gain promotion or better! Also add to that keeping a clean sheet. (which was the 5th one of the season, something not common in the last few years) It just goes to show that this is all about the squad that Delabole have and can pull off some great results, Well Done!
