Another hard day at the office for the Della lads , a short journey to Broughton Park to receive a sound thrashing. From the start it was obvious that Della were out of sorts , not that we have been in sparkling form so far this season , but no matter what the result the Della lads come back week after week with their heads high and expecting to win. Yet today seemed different from the kick off mistakes were made that allowed Park territory from which to attack and it didn`t take long for the scoring to begin .Park were dominant in all areas their scrum was superb and the mix of play that they brought to the game was impressive with their stand off manipulating the strings that pulled the game this way and that way.Park ran in five tries in the first half for a 33-0 lead at half time. Dellas cause wasn`t helped with two yellows and two reds during the first half leaving the remaining thirteen to try and contain a rampant attacking side . Della to their great credit battled through the first twenty minutes of the second half , but the task was too great and it was perhaps inevitable that further scores would come due to the lack of personell , not the lack of commitment. Park ran in a further three tries to finish on 48-0. We Della taking a little pleasure from denying them the fifty point mark. This was without doubt Della`s lowest point of the season and the lack of discipline was worrying,and yet there were some fantastic personal displays , and the courage of the thirteen players to see it out to the final whistle with the home crowd baying was something to behold. The Park players were appreciative of the effort the Della lads had given and were in no way gloating at Della`s defeat. So we can`t dwell on defeat we move on and we move on together , hopefully learning some thing from today.
