With both teams still to register any points from their 2 games after both were promoted to the Premier Division something has to give and as well as local bragging rights at least one team will have opened their points tally.

The game will also double up as a fund raising game for charity to raise money for Dementia UK to remember well known Denaby man John Hurley, though Denaby Main are playing at Manvers Park this season permission from the County Senior League has been obtained to play at Tickhill Square so an admission charge can be made to help raise funds for the Charity. There will also be a commemorative match programme and raffle to try and raise as much money as possible for such a worthy cause.

After the game the winners will be awarded the Denaby United Supporters club trophy though it has been designated the John Hurley Memorial Trophy for this game, though there is no change to any points gained for either team from the match should the game end in a draw there will be a penalty shootout to determine the first winners of the John Hurley Memorial Trophy.

While any funds raised are going to a good cause lets not forget points are at stake so a good performance is needed to get our season up and running.
