24 year old Jordan Barrow has signed the dotted line for Denbigh Town after returning to the UK from Australia.
Jordan joined Everton Academy as a child and stayed there up to Under 18s. He was not offered a professional contract however and so shortly afterwards he joined Stalybridge Celtic as a defensive midfielder. He later played for Caernarfon Town in the Huws Gray Alliance where he caught the eye of Airbus Broughton who were in the Welsh Premier League. Jordan signed for the Wingmakers the following year and after two seasons moved again to Cefn Druids for the the 2016/17 campaign. After playing for Druids he moved on again and signed for Rhyl. He left the Lilywhites just before the end of the season as he wanted to try his luck in Australia. He played for SV Suns Football Club in Victoria state and has now moved back to the UK.
When signing for Denbigh Town he said " I don't know an awful lot about Denbigh Town if I am perfectly honest but I know Matty and have played with Tony. I watched the Denbigh and Airbus game and met a few of the players and officials last weekend. After having a think I have decided to join. I have not played for a few weeks but am happy that it won't take me long to be fully match fit and am keen to get going."
Matty Jones was clearly very happy with things and said "“Having worked with Jordan at Rhyl last season I know exactly what Jordan will bring to this group Dewi and I are both delighted and extremely excited with this signing. That Jordan has chosen to sign for us after his spell playing in Australia is testament to work being done here. Jordan brings with him Welsh Prem experience and technical ability that make him one of the best central midfield players in the league. We also have to thank our captain Tony Davies who has helped with this signing”
Jordan is not eligible to play immediately as we have to obtain International Clearance. This has been requested from the FAW who are contacting the Australian FA. Hopefully we will not have to wait too long.
Welcome to Central Park Jordan !
