Friday 21 September 7.30pm ko

Denbigh Town are currently lying joint bottom of the Huws Gray Alliance league with Prestatyn, Holyhead and Denbigh - all on four points. Our next opponents, Holywell Town, have just one more point having won their last league game against Llanrhaeadr YM and drawing two previous games against Flint and Conwy Borough. So, this forthcoming match away at Holywell on Friday evening 21 September 7.30pm and our match on Tuesday evening against Prestatyn take on even more importance.

Denbigh Town played well against Rhyl last week in the Huws Gray Cup and the win will have given the side confidence and belief which can to be taken into our league matches. Unfortunately Ross Weaver went off injured at Rhyl and there will be some doubt over his fitness and Joel Hewitt is out long term but otherwise there is a full squad available. Craig Vernon will have returned from holiday and should be OK to take up his position between the sticks but if not we can be confident that new keeper Gwydion Owen will do a job. Young Harri Lovatt, a recent signing from Knockbreda FC in Northern Ireland has received International Clearance and may join the squad.

Holywell , like Denbigh, have had a difficult time of late and are pleased that former manager John Heseldin has returned to bolster the management team. They surely would have been disappointed to lose striker Damien Ketley to neighbours Flint but have announced two new signings to add further depth and strength to their defence namely Tom Hartley from Rhyl and Matty Woodward from Runcorn. Other signings, including forward Steve Lewis who has also returned to the club, await International Clearance.

There is more rain and wind due but whatever the weather let's support the Denbigh Town lads and make the effort to get to Halkyn Road - Holywell v Denbigh Town Friday 21 Sept 7.30pm kick off.

C'mon Denbigh!
