All the Denbigh followers are hoping that we don't slip up again at The Flyover ground home of Llandudno Junction.
We all know that we were knocked out of both the Huws Gray League Cup and the Welsh Cup at the ground earlier this season and so, by definition, this is a tough place to visit. Junction have yet to win a league match but other sides such as Holywell , Rhyl and Holyhead have only won by the one goal here and Penrhyncoch and Airbus have managed a draw.
By all accounts Junction will not be playing in the Huws Gray next year whatever the results for the rest of the season due to problems with the size of the pitch. Denbigh are sorry to hear of their troubles as, despite the defeats we have suffered there, we have always been made very welcome by the friendly committee and supporters.
Manager Iain Bennett and top scorer Dean Seager have very recently left the club and some may think this may help Denbigh on Saturday but Junction are determined to do all they can to make a good impression for the rest of the season. We know it is not going to be an easy game and have no illusions regarding the task in hand.
Denbigh had a creditable draw against Caernarfon last week but many players felt like it was a defeat due to Caernarfon's last kick penalty goal. Manager Eddie Maurice -Jones is aware of this and has ensured that the team are well prepared and had this to say " It says something when the team and supporters are disappointed that we only managed a draw with the league leaders and shows the expectations we have raised as the season has progressed. We did do enough to win though and I am pleased that we created so many chances compared to our game at Ruthin. However, we have had just the one point from the last two games and so need a win on Saturday. We will do everything we can to try and get the three points. "
Note that the kick off time is 2pm as there are no floodlights at the Junction.
Come on Denbigh !
