Kevin Roberts who is also the chairman of our Junior Section was given the opportunity of managing the Reserves team back in September. He recalls they were near the bottom of the Welsh Alliance Reserve league and decided to add more youth to the set up and develop players with an eye on the following season. He said " Yes, We put together a youthful squad but it was evident from our first game that this wasn't a gamble as the young lads adapted well to the demands of senior football in the Reserve League. We beat Rhyl away from home in a really good match which we won 3 - nil and for me this was the highlight of our season. We later used this game as a benchmark for future performances. We later went on to finish the season on an eight game unbeaten run which gave us the runners up spot missing out on winning the league by just three points. Another highlight is seeing five reserve players being involved with the first team during the season. This could not have been achieved without the help and support of Gareth Hughes and John Roberts. Thanks also to Nick Hailes who runs the Development Squad who I have built a great working relationship with over the season.
Already pre - season is planned and we look forward to another season developing our good young players further "
