18 yr old signs for Denbigh's first team

The club are pleased to announce that 18 yr old Harri Lovatt has signed for Denbigh Town and is now available to play after International Clearance has been granted.

Harri is a keen Wrexham fan having being born in Wrexham and is an excellent footballer. He was spotted as having potential at a very young age and played for Chester Academy then Shrewsbury Town academy before being taken on as a scholar / apprentice. He has been capped by Wales at u18 schoolboy level and last season spent a period on loan at Evo Stik side Sutton Coalfield. At the beginning of this season Harri went over to Northern Ireland to gain further experience and signed for Knockbreda FC before deciding it was not for him. Even though he never actually turned out for the club we still had to obtain International Clearance and on this occasion it has come through quickly and he is now free to play for Denbigh Town. We would like to thank Gordon Davidson the secretary of Knockbreda FC who was so helpful even to the extent of corresponding with us at Denbigh whilst he was on holiday in Spain.

Harri's returning to Wales is Denbigh's gain and we spoke to Harri to ask for his thoughts and he said " I have known Dewi for years and he had been trying to sign me for Bala Academy when I was 11yrs or 12 yrs playing for my local side. I am exited to come in at Denbigh and at the prospect of playing senior football in a competitive league. I want to progress and enjoy my football at the same time. Good game at Rhyl last night by the way. "

Dewi Llion said " We are delighted to have signed Harri. He is another young and hungry player who really fits the profile of what we are looking to develop here. Harri has a strong pedigree behind him and will certainly add quality to the group. He can operate as a central midfielder or as a full back and we are delighted that he has seen what we are doing here and sees it as a positive step in his career. "
