Denbigh Town are pleased to announce the signing of Joel Darlington. Local boy Joel, is a quick striker who hails from Gellifor.

Manager Eddie Mauirce-Jones had this to say, "Having watched Joel, it's obvious that his pace is a real asset and he looked extremely lively in front of goal. It's of no surprise that he is on the top scorer list in the summer league with 21 goals, and it's even more impressive that he's only 18. Dewi speaks extremely highly of him, so I am looking forward to working with him"

First team Coach Dewi Llion went on to say "I have worked with Joel during my time at Bala Town and signed him for the U19s side last season were he finished top scorer for the team. We then tried signing Joel in January but he signed for the first team at Bala. We've kept tabs on him throughout the season, and I convinced Eddie to come down and watch him in a Summer League game for Llangynhafal, and he agreed it was a no brainer to try and get him to join us."

Joel started his football career at Ruthin Town before moving to Bala Town Academy. He was then offered a 6 week trial at Manchester United, during which unfortunately was cut short due to Joel breaking his arm. He then signed for Shrewsbury Town where he spent 4 years and was unlucky to miss out on as a YTS. Joel has also represented Wales at youth level.
