Devizes Hockey Club

This is the 8th year that this successful coaching has taken place, and although not part of the Single System it gives U13 boys the opportunity to receive high quality, up to date coaching by JRPC coaches, and if invited the opportunity to play in a United Kingdom Under 13 festival of hockey in Nottingham in June.

If you have any boys in your club or school, or friends, that you feel would benefit from this please pass the information on, we are open to any boy in school years 6, 7 and 8.

This seasons U13 boys hockey development training sessions will again be run by Sue Hutchings, England Hockey Level 3 coach, Devon U14, JRPC Under 18 Boys Academy coach, U18 Boys Wessex Leopards Futures Cup coach.

Boys must be Under 13 on Sept 1st 2011, School years 6, 7 and 8

The session dates are as follows;

Saturday 14th April 10.30 am - 4 pm, Exeter University

Saturday 28th April 10.30 am – 4 pm , Exeter University.

Saturday 12th May 10.30 am – 4 pm , Exeter University.

Saturday 19th May 10.30 am – 4 pm , Exeter University

Each session will be based on skills training and match play. The object of these sessions is to give you the opportunity to train alongside boys from other schools and clubs, and to give you an insight into what is required for you to possibly become a regional player.

You can come to just 1 session, or all 4, it is up to you and Each training day will cost £15. Cheques must be made payable to “DHDG”

After these 4 sessions there is the opportunity for you to be invited to play in an Under 13 Unofficial National Festival in Nottingham from Friday June 15th to Sunday June 17th .

If invited there will be 2 training sessions which you must attend to prepare you for this on,

Saturday 26th May and Saturday 2nd June both at Exeter University

The festival in Nottingham will cost around £170, which includes accommodation, food, packed meals, and kit. It does not include transport to and from Nottingham.

The coaching will be led by Sue Hutchings (EH level 3). All coaches will be a minimum of EH level 1, CRB checked and been on child awareness and first aid courses. A number of young leaders will be assisting.

FINALLY the U13’s is not part of the new EH single system. It is unofficial and does not mean that you will automatically be selected for the West JRPC’s. This is an opportunity for extra coaching and a fun festival to play in, giving you an invaluable experience for the future.
