DEVONPORT SERVICES v STONEHOUSE SHARKS Under 12 ’s
In this long awaited match between Devonport Services under 12's who hold the best defensive score throughout Devon & Cornwall and have only lost one match, played their neighbours, a strong Stonehouse Sharks team . The match put an end to Stonehouse Sharks unbeaten record with an outstanding performance from Devonport Services . With Devonport Services playing at home on a lush, green rugby pitch marked out with plenty of width and in perfect condition to play quality rugby. As the referee signalled ready to each side the game began. Stonehouse Sharks kicked high, but Devonport Services collected neatly and took the game to Stonehouse Sharks, both sides defended and attacked well for the first 10 minutes but when Devonport Services raised their game Stonehouse Sharks could not reply, so it was not long before the backs vice captain Robbie Weeks, Toby Fisher, Liam Jarvis, Joe Pinder, Jonah Moore, Lewis Andrews, Jack Tompkins , Fin Reynolds and Paddy Hutchins got going with wave upon wave of attacks and with Stonehouse Sharks defending well by kicking it away to safety, it was Devonport Services forwards led by captain Reece Bartlett , Tom Pyne, Grace AtWill , Albert Slade, Callum Wier, Oran Houghton , Will Reynolds and Callum Turner that started to dismantle Stonehouse defence with forward momentum and quick hands from scrum half Liam Jarvis finding fly half Toby Fisher who passed on to inside centre Robbie Weeks then on to centre Jonah Moore who ran well being supported by full back Lewis Andrews as Jonah Moore got tackled he popped the ball onto supporting full back Lewis Andrews who sat down Stonehouse Sharks winger and scored a good team try . Toby Fisher Devonport Services fly half converted nicely to lead Devonport Services 7 - 0 Stonehouse Sharks. The sharks had a few chances but dropped the ball in the early phases of their attacks which was quickly scooped up by Devonport Services forwards and each time Devonport Services came close to sharks line they would kick the ball down field in panic and this time full back Lewis Andrews gathered the kick on his own 22 metre line and simply showed Stonehouse where his strengths lie by running strong, straight through Stonehouse defences leaving a lot of players on the floor as he went through, to grab his brace, safely converted by Devonport Services fly half Toby Fisher to end the first half Devonport Services 14 - 0 Stonehouse Sharks. In the second half with some changes Devonport Services carried on in the same way taking the game to Stonehouse Sharks, with both backs and forwards working hard together and raising their game even more saw fly half Toby Fisher finding full back Robbie Weeks running through who in turn found centre Jonah Moore with forwards in support Jonah took the tackle and with a clean pick up from captain Reece Bartlet almost made the try line but it was Devonport Services hooker Albert Slade with quick reactions driving himself low to cross the line for his team try neatly converted by fly half Toby Fisher to lead Devonport Services 21 - 0 Stonehouse Sharks . Stonehouse Sharks came back at Devonport Services many times after that but with some good tackles from Devonport Services with a mention to winger Paddy Hutchins and full back Robbie Weeks who put in a lot of hits which moments later Devonport Services winger Jack Tompkins made an amazing break and left Stonehouse Sharks winger for dust to score a nice try which was converted with the safe boot of fly half Toby Fisher to lead Devonport Services 28 - 0 Stonehouse Sharks. Then Stonehouse Sharks came at Devonport Services again and again but with Devonport Services defensive record the score stayed the same and the referee blew to close the game Devonport Services 28 - 0 Stonehouse Sharks. WELL DONE .
