The teams in Didcot RUFC Minis are based on the age of the player. We determined that by his or her age at the start of the rugby season (midnight on 31 August).

An “Under 8”, for example, must start the season aged 7, but will turn 8 during the season and will carry on playing as an “Under 8” until the start of the next season.

Interestingly this also tallies with their school year! If you add 5 to their school year you will get their rugby age group.... For example, players in primary school Year 2 will be in the “Under 7” age. Primary school Year 4 (+5) are “Under 9” and Secondary school Year 7 (+5) will be “Under 12”.
