Didcot come off the rails

For a local derby this was probably as one-sided as it gets. Didcot travelled to Abingdon will a number of injuries to 1st team players and within 5 minutes of the game lost their influential fly half, Josh Witts.
Nevertheless Didcot were outclassed by a well organised and highly motivated Abingdon side. Abingdon built an impressive lead to the half time of 22-0 as a result of 3 tries, 2 conversions and a penalty.

The second half was a more even affair with Didcot competing but without ever executing on their game plan. A further intercepted try from Abingdon sealed the victory with a score of 29-0, and although most of the final 20 minutes were played in the Abingdon half, they broke away for their 5th try, 34-0. However, in the dying minutes of the game, Didcot got a consolation try through Stephen Stone. It was converted by Chris Freeman, for a final score of 34-7.

Fact is that Didcot were some way off form with far too many tackles missed and a lack of control. That said, Abingdon played well and applied pressure across the park
