Record turnout for our rugby party in the park!

Thanks to everyone who took part in our Club Day on Sunday. This club is going from strength to strength! I can't wait until next year when we do this again but up at Boundary Park, our own home ground!
- David Witts, Chairman of Didcot RUFC

What a fantastic weekend of rugby fun we’ve had in Didcot! We were out in force at the Didcot Town Fayre, on Saturday, with our stall meeting people and talking about all the exciting developments in the Club over the last 5 years!

Thank you all the volunteers and players who helped on the stall and in the demo - you did a great job of promoting the Club and rugby!

Of course the highlight of the weekend was our Club Day in Edmonds Park on Sunday! It was brilliant to see over 300 people came together to enjoy a day of rugby fun, a record for our Club Days! The forecast bad weather stayed away and we able to enjoy taster sessions and demonstrations from all the sections: Minis, Ladies and Seniors, the fun games and of course the BBQ!

It takes a team effort to make the Club Day happen... so thank you to everyone who put in a lot of hard work on and off the pitch! (things like delivering fliers, making cakes, cooking burgers, setting up, clearing away, registering new players - the list goes on and on!)! A huge thank you also goes to all the players, coaches, parents and families who came along to support the day!

The new players who came along had a great time and we look forward to seeing them again in September when the season starts!

Dave Witts, Chairman of Didcot RUFC, had the following to say:
“Thanks to everyone who took part in our Club Day on Sunday. We had a fantastic turnout and it was great to see so many people playing rugby and enjoying the core values rugby promotes. This club is going from strength to strength and I’m really proud of all the effort everyone puts in with these things! I can't wait until next year when we do this again but up at Boundary Park, our own home ground!”

Rob Carter, Vice Chairman of Didcot RUFC Juniors said:
“It was amazing to see such a great turnout from both existing and new players in our Minis section. They were all smiling as they enjoyed playing lots of fun rugby games. The future of the club is certainly looking bright.”

and Rachael Stewart, Captain of Didcot RUFC Ladies said:
“Fab turnout and great atmosphere at the Didcot RUFC Club day. Hopefully the demo game, played by a small selection of our ladies and our coaches, was evidence that rugby isn't just for men! It's for mums, wives, girlfriends and anyone else that wants to have fun and get fit while doing it! We always welcome more players so if you were watching and fancy giving it a go, come along! Proud to be part of a great team and a great club.”

Thanks for coming along and supporting grass roots rugby in Didcot, thank you for supporting us! It’s what rugby is all about!
