Didcot Town are back on the FA Trophy trail this weekend as we host Mangotsfield United in the 1st Qualifiying round (3pm kick off). Didcot progressed to this stage by winning 2 games already against Thamesmead Town and Hertford Town whereas the Mango's beat Kidlington in the previous round to setup tomorrow's game.
Mangotsfield are familiar opposition for the Railwaymen as we were previously in the South-West Division together for a number of years and it was the Mango's who came out on top in both encounters with Didcot last season, they were 1 of only 3 teams to do the double over the Railwaymen despite an inconsistent season overall for the Bristol based side. Our visitors are currently in 16th place in the embryonic South-West table this season with 3 wins from their 9 games along with 6 defeats.
For Didcot it's been a frustrating last couple of games with back to back 4-3 losses although both in totally different circumstances. Didcot having played well at Yaxley but letting a 2 goal lead slip they were however thoroughly second best on Tuesday as they fell to a same scoreline defeat to Berkhamsted.
On the player front it's not good news for the Railwaymen, striker Aaron Woodley who pulled up during the pre-game warm up is out of tomorrow's game, he joins his brother Matt on the sidelines along with George Reid who has a hamstring injury also sustained on Tuesday. Callum McNish serves his 3rd game of his 4 game suspension following his post match red card against Hertford in the previous round of the FA Trophy meaning manager Andy Ballard's options are severely limited for Saturday's game. Youngster Caelaan Isaac has been added to the Didcot squad for Saturday.
Finally a note for supporters that season tickets aren't valid for Saturday's game due to FA Trophy rules, as such it is pay on the gate for all supporters with normal admission rates applying.
