please find itme to come down and celebrate the life of our life president and founder of Old Bedians Rugby Club.

Hi all,

Hope everyone's well!

This Saturday the rugby club will be celebrating the life of our recently deceased President, Mr Des Pastore MBE.

Des was a fabulous chap, truly a stalwart of the club, the original founder and a supporter of many a rugby career (my own included) throughout his life. He continued to play Vets rugby until his late years, tennis too, a remarkable man.

Many of you will have seen his picture up in the clubhouse, we lost him a week or so ago aged 97 and his funeral takes pace this Thursday.

On Saturday, commencing at midday, myself and many former players will dust off our forgotten kits, skills, pace and decrepit gum shields to play a memorial game against Sale. Des played for Sale, and still holds their club record for tries in one season.

The clubhouse and bar will be open all day, the 1stXV and 2ndXV will play after the memorial game and the 'craic' as they say, will be mighty! Matters will be brought to a conclusion somewhere in Didsbury much, much later! Drink may be taken!

So... As I said in the title, you're welcome, the junior section is an intrinsic and important part of our club, present and future, come and help us reflect on, and celebrate, our past! it will be good to see you!
