To celebrate the new lights, to raise a few bob, to see old friends and share a beer with our mates we have issued a challenge to Simon Martin and his kronies to take on the might of the Dings old boys.

There will be a smattering of internationals in the Bristol Wanderers team versus just about everybody who has ever put boots on in a Dings shirt, but not at the same time, we’ll have to give ‘em a chance-shall we say a 20 point start? Us Dings lads will be there to show the professionals some real skills.

There will be no gate entrance fee but Simon intends to have a bucket collection for Bristol Wanderers this year are supporting the CHSW charity (children's hospice south west) as our old mucker Kevin Maggs tragically lost is daughter a couple of years ago and the family spent a great deal of time with the hospice at Charlton farm near Bristol.

CHSW provide much needed care and support to children who will not make it into adult hood and the charity is close to the Maggs family heart. We’ll make sure they raise a tidy sum. Bristol Wanderers ladies walking around with buckets to raise a few quid.

I expect we’ll put on some sarnies or something to make the occasion, oh and free beer for all provided they apply by midnight 10th Sept. 2014
