Town with a recent 2-0 win against local rivals Hallam in the Senior Cup went into the game with confidence hoping to take all points.

13 mins former Town player Liam Morris went close for Hallam when a cross by Ben Cubley found Morris but his header was well saved by Hands.

The remaining first half produced little in front of goal and was mainly a scrappy afair, the only other chance came to Town on 37 mins when a John Roper shot went just over. HT 0-0

Second half started well for Hallam when James Cook ran away down the right wing to square a cross for Ben Cubley to score on 56 mins.

70mins Liam Cartledge went clear of his marker but agonizingly saw his shot hit the woodwork and Hallam cleared the theat.

Lewis Naylor kept Hallam in the lead when he saved a Matt Smith goal bound header on 77 mins.

Hallam should have killed off Towns late rally when Ben Kistell found himself with only Hands to beat but his shot was blocked.
