“Norman Cicero Potter”
Nam et qui bene imperat, paruerit aliquando necess
Another disappointing result for the first team away at Eton Manor, played in the Bancroft's Mud at Buckhurst Hill as the Eton Manor pitch was unplayable There had been various availability problems for the team and in the end they travelled with only 17 players. There was certainly compensation for Diss RFC with the Saracens winning 56 nil against Cambridge 3rds in the first of their phase two Eastern Counties 1 matches . And true to form Benny Goodman led his third team to a colossal 91.0 victory over Lowestoft and Yarmouth 2nds, the game being stopped early to save any more humiliation for the home side. . On Sunday The Vixens under 15s won a tournament at Crusaders, winning two and drawing one match, scoring an impressive 29 tries whilst conceding only 5.The boys under 13s were recording another victory this time over Crusaders. The under 14s were at West Norfolk playing in the Norfolk Plate competition and were also comprehensive winners by 69 -19 to secure theri place in the final which will be at Diss on May 6th .
The minis entertained Crusaders and a great time was had by all, players and parents alike.
This week in a break from League rugby the First team entertain Norwich in the semi final of the Norfolk Challenge cup. This will also be playing for the annual Dai Evans Memorial trophy. The winners will play either North Walsham or Holt on may 5th at Diss in the Norfolk Big Rugby Day. The Saracens entertain Wymondham 2nds also a Norfolk Cup match[Wymondham have now concede this match]. Benny Good man is due to take his thirds to play theiri opposite numbers at North Walsham in the Norfolk Salver.
On Sunday Sam Cowling takes her ever so successful under 16s away to play in Wales none will hopefully forget their passports.! Both the under 14s and under 13s are away at Newmarket and the minis entertain North Walsham and Southwold. The Vixens under 15s and under 18s are both away playing Cup matches.
