Diss 3rds 13 Holt 2nds 8
An absorbing encounter with several venerable Diss heroes of the past donning their kit and sallying forth against the might of Holt, who quite unfairly brought a bevy of replacement with them.
The first half was scoreless, and end to end encounter with the defences of both sides having the upper hand. Holt having brought on several fitter players for the second period took the lead with an unconverted try by John Ross. The home side rallied and drew level when Harry Bowden robbed his opposite number and set Chris Smith up for a try from 25 yards..
A penalty goal gave Holt the lead again but was matched by one from Diss to draw level. The final score to give Diss a well deserved lead came from a kick ahead by Pete Tomson, who whilst admiring his footwork was overtaken by most of the team who swarmed over the line to score a communal try'.
