2016 saw Dorking 4th XI finish, again, mid division, but at Dorking, cricket at this level is more than just about winning, it is about providing an introduction into league cricket for the up and coming juniors, and providing a place where twilight cricketers can pass on their experience to those youngsters. Dorking managed in 2016 to introduce to 4th XI league cricket some 32 different players all of whom through playing gained a real experience of league cricket and made great improvements in their overall playing of the game. Above all it was so good to see the development and bonding of competitive teams whilst playing within the spirit of the game.
