Past Players
Dowgate over the years has had hundreds of players some more short periods of time and others for very long times,We neither have the space or information to note every player that has played for Dowgate.
But here is a list of just a few that i have had the honour of being part of Dowgate with.
Len Lamb and Micky Highgate,Both now been with the club for over 40 years and both still represent as chairman and secretary Both also played for the cricket team Dowgate once had.
Other players of note are Bary Sale,Now a respected referee in the tonbridge league and his son Liam sale is a current team player.
Current coach Will Moon also played at Dowgate for a number of years his son Sam also is a current member of Dowgate.And of course myself Daniel Brightmore been with the club in some capacity now for 22 years.And during this time at the club my partner in crime was long serving Paul Lowman who himself spent 19 years with dowgate.
Franco Orlando left Dowgate in 2009 to join Roselands to seek first team football but had spent over 15 years as a Dowgate player great servent to the club.
Steve Wellard a smashing bloke and a real rock of a player ,helped dowgate come back from a very bleak period and the start of good things to come this also included his partner in crime at the back Martin Doncaster a very tough tackling defender and missed at the club as a bit of a character.
Lee Haynes deserves a mention also spent well over ten years at the club as goal keeper moved on in 2008 to also to seek first team football.
