As Hath as already explained we are looking for ideas from the club members for the 80th Anniversary next summer. Thought we could use the Chat Room on here to put up ideas and get volunteers for the 'sub committee' that will be put in place for the event next year. I am happy to put myself forward to be on the sub committee and as an idea maybe we could have a marquee out on the field and have like a ball with black tie etc and make a real formal night of it. This will obviously need fund raising though and I already have ideas for the season but will need the backing of the players. 2012 is defo going to be a massive year for DHCC. All answers on a postcard please. |

you could add me to the sub-comm. sure i can help in some way or form. think it's a good idea to keep it at the club, as it means that bar revenue etc will stay in the club. will think of a few things, but as a first idea, i do like your idea mate. |

I agree that we need a black tie event, reason being I have a dinner suit that hasn't seen the light of day for years!!! But agree it should be at the club. Happy to help out in any way shape or form depending on my rugby and children commitments. |

If it was rugby commitments for a proper club I would understand. As its Gordon League that's not an excuse haha |

Paul Drinkwater also has lots of ideas and would like to be on the committee. In the new year i'll try and get you all together and get the ball rolling and brain storming starting! |

God they must of been short haha. I think we need to defo be looking at a black tie event which we should hold at the club. Obviously this will not be free so everyone is going to have to play their part the forthcoming season with fundraising etc. I will be running a football card every saturday and have worked out that could raise up to £200 over about 2-3 months if we have games there or there abouts every week. We will obviously invite sponsors etc to the dinner so we can see if we can get some extra sponsors for this event maybe??? Hath has commented above saying that at the next MB meeting then they will discuss this going forward but we need to really let Hath know formally if we are able to offer something to this and obviously any friends or friends of friends who are caterers or have a big marquee available or work for attwools etc haha will be obviously most welcome. I am happy to organise a sub committee I just need to know from Hath what sort of numbers you would like on the committee and what sort of involvement you would like us to have as wouldn't want to step on peoples toes such as Woody and Mags?? |

Im thinking of a fundraising idea of everyone at the club who wants to take part can do a Bowling Machine Survival Challenge where you face 90mph+ bowling for as long as possible in the net and we could have bets on who lasts the longest or how many deliveries. Or I'd be happy to bat for say an hour or so against it and see how many times I get out or last. Or alternatively Bollock could do a first game of the season streak to raise money! Just a couple of ideas. |

How about trying to get on the tv? We could apply to be on Club Life on Sky Sports. I'm happy to make the application, we could have the Crusaders on there as well! :) |
