1. Rules for Fantasy Cricket


The 2012 season will see the inaugural running of the Drighlington Whitehall Fantasy Cricket Competition.

The premise is simple, and is just like every Fantasy Football competition. You pick your Drighlington Whitehall side, and your players will earn points as the season progresses.

So what are the rules?

You need to select 6 players from our playing squad, at least two of these players will need to be one our juniors*. Just like a fantasy competitions we have a salary cap. You will be given 110p to spend on your 6 players. You will be able to make 2 changes to your team ahead of the first game of each senior game of each month.

How to score points?

Appearances
If a player is plays in the 1st XI = 10 Points
If a player is plays in the 2nd XI, U17s or U15s = 5 Points
If a junior players plays in a senior side = 5 Points

Batting
For every run a player scores = 1 Point
For every 50 scored in a match = 25 Points
For every 100 scored in a match = 50 Points (this overrides the 50 bonus)
For every duck (0 runs scored) = -25 Points

Bowling
For every wicket your player takes = 10 Points
For every 5 wicket haul = 25 Points
For every 7 wicket haul = 50 Points

Fielding/Wicket Keeping
For every catch = 10 Points
For every run out = 20 Points
For every stumping = 20 Points
For a fielding point = 15 Points

The Man of the Match will be awarded 25 points.

The cost of entry is £5, or if you enter 4 teams £15. The prize fund will be split as follows:

1st Place 35% of total
2nd Place 20% of total
3rd Place 10% of total
4th Place 5% of total
5th Place 5% of total
The remaining 25% will go towards the cricket section.

All entries need to be received by 12pm Saturday 12th May to be included in the first week's scoring.

If teams are tied at the end of the season, the team with the most batting points will finished higher, if still level bowling points will be used to separate the teams, then Fielding points, then the number of MOM/Appearance Points. If still level the prizes will be split between the 2 teams.

* A junior player has to represent Drighlington Juniors, if the player plays senior cricket for Drighlington Whitehall but Junior cricket for another club they are classed as a Senior for the Fantasy Cricket Competition.
