The idea of the course is to enable clubs to have someone who can firstly develop their own umpires, provide constructive feedback etc, and secondly to then go forward to be assessed by BCHUA to become and umpire assessor themselves.

Clubs have a backlog of people who have gone through the L1 course and then are waiting for BCHUA to assess them to enable them to officiate at an appropriate level, this should help alleviate the backlog.
