Although there is the prospect of some light showers on Saturday afternoon, it looks as though the wet weather has finally relented to let the 2018 season commence this weekend.

With the Worcestershire County League voting against a delayed start, our league campaigns will be getting underway without players having the chance to blow away the cobwebs in friendly matches – all of which were washed out.

The 1sts enter the Division 2 fray at Kempsey, whilst the 2nds – newly promoted to 2nd XI Division 1 – welcome Harborne 4ths to St Peter’s Fields.

There is a combined 3rds/4ths home friendly versus Pershore on Saturday too, which will be played on the ‘arti’. Weather-permitting, it will also be the scene for the first junior fixture of the summer on Sunday when the Under 12s take on OEs.

Well done to Knokey and the grounds team for their hard work in getting these games on.
