Child Protection Policy Statement.
Policy Statement:
Rugby Union is a potentially dangerous game, which relies on every participant, playing and coaching, doing so within the laws of the game and in a spirit of mutual respect.
The aim of Dronfield RUFC Youth Section is to teach and develop the rugby skills in children and young persons from the age of seven years in safety and in a way that is enjoyable to the child / young person.
This will be achieved through structured coaching methods and playing the game with other rugby clubs within the RFU Laws.
Dronfield RUFC will ensure that its staff and volunteers are carefully selected, trained and supervised. All persons having direct responsibility for children and young people will be subject to a Criminal Records Bureau check.
All coaches will be qualified having at least successfully completed the RFU Preliminary Coaching Course and be fully aware of the RFU Child / Young player Protection Policy.
Any Club members or volunteers working with children and young people will be aware of and adhere to Dronfield RUFC's Codes of Conduct relating to Coaches, Players and Parents alike.
There is also a responsibility from parents of the child / young person to ensure that their child has the correct kit as required by the laws of the game, and to ensure that they conduct themselves in an appropriate manner as outlined in our codes of practise whilst supporting the team in which their child plays.
Dronfield RUFC will put in place clear procedures for children and young people, parents, staff and volunteers to be able to voice their concerns if they feel unsure or unhappy about a matter concerning a child. This will include concerns about abuse within a childs family as well as concerns or allegations about staff or volunteers.
