The new season has already brought challenges to Gosforth Fields

After a good first year under Head Coach Darren Hall last season, the senior section were looking to push on this year to bigger and better things. Unfortunately, Darren has stepped down from his role due to family reasons and has taken a post across the Pennines. Everyone at DRUFC wishes him well and thanks him for his efforts in trying to take the club in a new direction. He set foundations which we will hopefully be able to build on this year.

Dronfield RUFC are happy to announce that former assistant coach, Sean Scanlon, will be stepping up as Head Coach. Sean has been part of Dronfield for the past 2 years and knows the senior section well. He brings a great deal of rugby experience with him to his new role having played for Munster, Rotherham Titans and Doncaster and is currently at Nottingham which hopefully will rub off on all players across the senior group.

He will be assisted by Doncaster Knights prop Colin Quigley, who will join the club as assistant/forwards coach. Colin has been helping the forwards with scrummaging and lineouts sporadically throughout the last two seasons and will become a more familiar face at training this year. We offer our thanks to Colin for giving up his time and effort to come and help Sean and we look forward to seeing his expertise put into practice on the field this season.
