Rugby World Cup Trophy is coming to NLD on Sunday 9th August

Dear Clubs,

We are planning a fantastic showcase of rugby throughout the three counties as the Trophy makes its way from Lincoln RFC, to Chatsworth House and finally it will end its journey through NLD in Nottingham Market Square.

We are delighted to confirm that we will be running a Mini Tag Festival on the South Lawn of Chatsworth House and we would like to invite your club to get involved! This is a fantastic opportunity for young players at your club to be an integral part of this very special occasion.

We are looking for 8 teams at the U8 age group (in 2014-15) from clubs within Derbyshire to take part. If your club would be keen to get involved please complete and return the below details to me (nldrfu@therfu.com) by Friday 19th June.

  • 12pm: Arrival & Registration of teams
  • 12:30pm: Briefing on the South Lawn
  • 1pm: Festival
  • 2:15pm: Trophy Photographs on South Lawn
  • 3pm: Trophy Depart
  • 3:15pm: Presentation of Medals to all players

The trophy itself will arrive at the Estate at 1pm, it will be on Public display beside the house until 2pm when it will be moved through to the South Lawn where the festival will be taking place.

Please see below some important information regarding the festival:

  • If more than 8 teams apply before the closing date they will all be entered into a hat and selected at random, a waitinglist will be kept.
  • Squads will be restricted to a maximum of 10 players.
  • We will be offering participating clubs a limited number of FREE tickets to the gardens where the festival will take place; any additional supporters will need to pay the Estate’s admission fee to the Gardens which will be available at a discounted rate.
  • Parking at the estate will be £3 per car.
  • All players should wear club kit but due to advertising restrictions it should have no obvious branding.
  • Players will be required to wear trainers or moulded studs depending on the weather.
  • This is a brilliant opportunity for young players at your club to offer a fantastic showcase in the games’ biggest year.

Don’t forget that entries need to be submitted by Friday 19th June – if you have any queries at all or would any more information then don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Best wishes
Nicole Brown
