The Bulls were on the road for the final game of the regular season to take on next weeks semi final opponent Orange Waratahs. In an improvement on last week, we travelled with 7 regular first graders. Jack Dunkley, Tom McKeon, Nelson Flick & Robbie Phair all missing and Richie McKeons Season ending early due to a knee injury.

The game didn’t start too bad for the Bulls as the bulls defence were able to cancel out Waratahs attacking raids, and after a poor challenge down the left the Waratahs winger was able to swing a ball in to their unmarked striker to head home from close range and make the score 1-0 to the home side.

The game was an arm wrestle for the rest of the half with the Bulls creating numerous chances for makeshift strikers Nathan Daniels and Jerry Biles. It wasn’t until the 40th Minute that we were able to capitalise, a short corner from Connor Jarret saw him receive the Ball up top of the box, he swing in a direct cross the found the head of Nathan Daniels to head into the roof of the goal. Daniels second for the day after also scoring in second grade.

Half time saw us lose the momentum and come out in the second half to a reinvigorated Tahs. Despite the Tahs efforts the Bulls wasted two golden opportunities from the edge of the box skying both efforts well and truly over the bar. For the majority of the half the Bulls were doing just enough to staying the game before 3 late goals to the Tahs handed the Bulls side the first loss of the Season. Most importantly, throughout the 3 grades there were no send offs and no injuries sustained during the round which means we will not be missing any extras this weekend

Despite the loss, the Minor premiership and a home semi were able to be wrapped two weeks prior to the game and has given us the best possible chance to secure a third title. We look to have close to our full strength side available again next week with just Robbie Phair missing (working away), but hopefully the earlier results go our way and we can rest a replacement for him.

A huge thank you to all those who backed up and especially Connor Jarret and Tyrone Evans who played in all 3 grades on the weekend.

Last word, a special mention to Marty McKeon for winning the 100m dash through Geurie vs Jerryn and Connor. A congratulations to McLachlan for getting engaged again, A strike for the German who cant impersonate a German and An apology to Clint Bennetts neighbours and family for the late night sing along. And to clarify, Bennett didn’t go to bed with 10 men and his Waratahs Nemesis despite chorus of drunks who claimed he did.
