Dulwich were unable to capitalise on taking a 4th minute lead and had to settle for a share of the points.

Dulwich named a starting line up that contained only onedebutant, Anthony Acheampong, with another three new players on the bench.

The Hamlet got off to a bright start and Ashley Carew fired wide in only the second minute with a shot from the right edge of the penalty area. The next attack saw a flowing move down the right that resulted in a Nyren Clunis cross being put behind for a corner.

The first corner was played short and a Nathan Green shot was blocked for another corner. From the next one delivered by Gavin Tomlin, Anthony Acheampong met it with a header that hit Michael Chambers and fell to Nathan Green to slam home.

However, Dulwich then suffered a setback in the 6th minute. Green overran the ball slightly and came off worse in a full blooded challenge; having to leave the field with a shoulder injury. He was replaced by Sanchez Ming but his absence clearly reduced the Dulwich threat down their left.

Another dangerous cross from Clunis in the 9th minute was just too far in front of the incoming Dumebi Dumaka and was headed away for another corner.

However, after the initial period Dulwich were never able to exert any consistent pressure and looked increasingly likely to surrender the lead; particularly from set plays.

In fact, Staines should have levelled in the 13th minute when an unmarked Mitchal Gough headed over from 6 yards out. Preston Edwards then did well to hold a low cross from the left, before producing a fine save from Josh Webb.

Staines thought they had equalised in the 26tb minute when another free kick saw Tommy Brewer head in, but he was denied by an offside flag ; whilst a mistake from Sanchez Ming saw Elliott Buchanan through on goal but the consistently excellent Anthony Acheampong produced a great tackle.

In the last minute of the half Acheampong headed just wide from a corner and Dumaka had a effort saved as Dulwich looked to give themselves a larger advantage to take to the break.

Half Time 1-0

Staines should have been level in the first minute of the second half. Max Worsfold crossed to the far post, Mohamed Bettamer headed back across goal and Buchanan hooked over from six yards.

Anthony Acheampong had another header that went wide and Quade Taylor also headed wide when he got on the end of a corner.

However, Staines were always dangerous and equalised in the 63rd minute when a free kick was floated in and Lewis Driver was all alone to head home.

Dulwich began to push hard for a breakthrough, bt after Carew fired wide and Gavin Tomlin had a free kick blocked, here was little of note to trouble either goalkeeper, although the introduction of Nana Boakye-Yiadom for Dulwich caused moments of anxiety.

With the game in added time Dulwich appeals for a penalty were turned down when Nana Boakye-Yiadom seemed to be grabbed by visiting keeper Ashlee Jones as he tried to turn when a corner fell to him. However, the referee was unimpressed.
