Dulwich dominated possession during the first half as the visitors seemed content to look to break out rather than commit to any attacks that they constructed. As a result of this, the game was slow to come to life.

A fifth minute free kick from Ashley Carew was cleared from the edge of the six yard box but Dulwich were generally unable to make any inroads as the visitors shut down space quickly.

Nathan Ferguson had to head clear after a dangerous free kick was delivered to the far post following a fouled by Quade Taylor. Ashley Carew then saw his free kick deflected past the post after Reise Allassani had been brought down.

Dulwich took the lead on the half hour when a corner from Ashley Carew was handled by Regent defender Matt Cripps under pressure from Marc Weatherstone. Ashley Carew stepped up and blasted home high to the keeper's left.

A second goal followed just four minutes later as Reise Allassani turned some 35 yards out an accelerated away from the defenders before burying his effort past the keeper low to his right.

At this stage, Dulwich seemed to be in complete control and a third goal seemed inevitable but it was Brightlingsea who grabbed a goal back right on half time. Ibrahim Kargo gave the ball away to Ricky Griggs. He drove at the defence before firing a fine low shot from 25 yards that beat Preston Edwards low to his right.

Half Time 2-1

Buoyed by their late first half goal, Brightlingsea Regent emerged with more attacking intent after half time, introducing two substitutes at half time. However, the first chance fell to Dulwich as Nana Boakye-Yiadom released Reise Allassani but his effort was blocked.

However, Brightlingsea certainly had the better of the half from there onwards. Rickie Hayles had to head clear after Preston Edwards couldn't get distance on his punch.. Griggs forced a save from Preston Edwards and, from the resulting corner, Edwards had to tip over a header from Josh Gould.

Brightlingsea scorer Griggs was then booked for Scything down Reise Allassani as he tried to cut in on goal from the left. Ashley Carew took the free kick and drew a fine save from Harry Palmer. Immediately, Brightlingsea broke out and it took a fine save from Preston Edwards and a block from Rickie Hayles to prevent an equaliser.

Preston Edwards then had to make a fine save low to his right to stop a shot from Griggs before Reise Allassani saw his effort deflected wide after he had turned in the box. Kenny Beaney then fired just wide but it was Dulwich who came under pressure near the end as the visitors strove to grab a point that their second half rally probably deserved.

Full Time 2-1
