Dulwich conceded a last minute equaliser and then missed 2 of their 3 penalties to crash out of the Robert Dyas League Cup.

Dulwich had a narrow escape in only the 2nd minute as Oshane Brown made a good stop and the follow up shot struck the post. However they were behind in the 14th minute as Oshane Brown failed to collect a free kick, having come a long way off his line, and Dominic Ogun fired home.

Within a minute Dulwich almost equalised as Bagasan Graham got on the end of a cross but Walton keeper Gary Ross got down smartly to save.

On 24 minutes Andrew Dalhouse got on the end of a cross for the visitors and will probably be disappointed that he headed wide of the target when unchallenged. Oshane Brown then had to make a smart save from Dalhouse as he was given plenty of space to shoot from distance.

Having rarely threatened, Dulwich were level on 30 minutes as a cross found its way to the edge of the box where Dean McDonald flicked it inside and a defender was adjudged to have handled. McDonald converted from the spot.

Walton still looked dangerous and Brown had to get down smartly to save from Tarome Hemmings, whilst at the other end good interplay between Dean McDonald & Matteo Candolini saw the latter's cross fly across the six yard box with no Dulwich player able to get a touch.

Bagasan Graham was then just too high with a free kick from 25 yards but the half ended all square.

Half Time 1-1

The second half opened with Dulwich showing much greater control and only good defending prevented Bagasan Graham getting on the end of a Fraser Shaw cross.

It was no surprise when Dulwich took the lead just past the hour mark as Dean McDonald received the ball on the edge of the box, turned and chipped over the keeper. It may have been on its way in but Michael Kamara headed in to make sure.

Dulwich almost had a third two minutes later courtesy of their full backs as Matteo Candolini swept a great cross field pass into the path of Fraser Shaw whose goal bound shot was tipped over.

Emiliano Hysi was just too high with a free kick and Dean McDonald took too long to get his shot away as Dulwich looked the more likely to score.

However, with time running down Dulwich were caught on the break and a cross from their left was converted by Andrew Dalhouse.

With 5 minutes added time indicated Dulwich pressed forward in search of a winner, but Ross produced a fine stop from a deflected cross shot from Fraser Shaw and then thwarted Emiliano Hysi with Shawn McCoulsky unable to put away the rebound.

Full Time 2-2

And so to penalties, where the visitors converted all 4 of their attempts with ease whilst only Kershaney Samuels was able to convert for The Hamlet: Dean McDonald seeing his effort strike the crossbar & Brandon Hobbs having his penalty saved.

Walton & Hersham winning 4-1 on penalties.
