With Phil Wilson, Dean McDonald & Terrell Forbes missing from Saturday's team,it was a much changed Hamlet side that took to the field. However, on the plus side Nyren Clunis & Kershaney Samuels returned from injury and suspension respectively. Dulwich were also able to welcome Frazer Shaw from Billericay Town.
The game was slow to come to life with the first real chance coming in the 11th minute as a Jordan Hibbert cross was too hard. At the other end, Karl Oliyide was allowed to run from inside his own half and fired just wide.
The visitors played a high defensive line and Dulwich thought they had timed their runs perfectly but the assistant didn't concur.
Good play by both sides did not manifest itself in many chances although an Ashley Carew free kick caused Metcalfe in the visitors goal to save and Ethan Pinnock put the ball over the top when it looked like he must score.
For the visitors, Rob Laney blasted across goal with nobody able to get on the end of it.
Half Time 0-0
Four minutes into the half an Ashley Carew free kick crashed off the bar with the keeper beaten but two minutes later The Hamlet fell behind. Jordan Hibbert was caught out of position and his clumsy challenge as he tried to recover saw the referee point to the spot. Hibbert could maybe consider himself lucky not to see a red card but his mistake was punished as David Might scored from the resultant penalty.
The lead was to last just 3 minutes. Good play on the left by Shaw & Samuel saw the ball transferred to Xavier Vidal on the edge of the box. He couldn't work the space for a trademark drive but instead produced a chip that hit the underside of the bar before entering the net.
Dulwich pressed hard and four minutes later had the lead. Ibrahim Mansaray won a challenge to the left of the goal and the produced a terrific finish over the keeper.
Wingate & Finchley always look dangerous and with 11 minutes left they were level again. Good play down the left saw the Dulwich defence fail to defend the cross and Davd Knigt pounced to draw them level.
Back came Dulwich and with six minutes left Ashley Carew produced an outageous scooped pass over the top of the visitors defence that was perfectly weighted for the onrushing Vidal to sweep home.
However, Dulwich couldn't hold on and with four minutes remaining poor defending at a free kick saw an unmarked Ola Sogbannu head home to secure a point.
