Rose, a former Dulwich Hamlet player, has guided the club to the brink of the sixth tier of the English football since he returned as manager in 2009.
Under his stewardship as the club’s longest-serving manager, Dulwich has enjoyed a period of sustained success, securing the Ryman South title and the Isthmian Charity Shield (in 2013) and making two appearances in the League Cup final. Rose himself became the first Dulwich manager to win the divisional Manager of the Year award.
“I am really pleased to sign this extension with Dulwich,” said Rose. “I have a great affinity with the club, the players, the fans, the board and the community in and around Champion Hill.”
During his tenure, Rose has aimed to sign local players, helping to foster a family atmosphere and truly local environment at the club, which lifted the FA Amateur Cup and Isthmian League championship four times during a halcyon period between the two world wars. Last season, the Pink ‘n’ Blues were a fraction away from promotion to the Conference South, before narrowly losing in the play-offs to Margate at the semi-final stage.
“We are delighted that Gavin has committed to Dulwich Hamlet FC,” said Matt Rimmer, Group Head of Communications for Hadley Property Group which owns Dulwich Hamlet FC.
“That is a positive step and matches our own commitment to securing the future of the football club.”
