Gavin Rose has continued to strengthen his squad with the addition of Ghassimu Sow who joins the Hamlet from St Albans City on a contract basis.

Liberian born 20-year-old midfielder Ghassimu (or Gus as he known) began his footballing career with Crystal Palace, coming through the youth ranks before signing a three-year professional contract with the Glaziers in April 2012. Dulwich Hamlet fans may recall Gus playing against us in past preseason friendlies for the Eagles.

In May 2014 Gus joined Finnish side FC Honka Espoo, managed by former Crystal Palace fans’ favourite Shefki Kuqi, on a three-month loan deal. Whilst with Honka he made seven appearances in the Veikkausliiga, Finland’s top tier.

When Gus returned to Crystal Palace he continued to be a mainstay of the club’s Under 21 Development squad. In January 2015 he went out on a one-month loan at Farnborough, then in Conference South. In his time at Cherrywood Road he made half a dozen appearances making his debut for the team in a 4-1 defeat at Hemel Hempstead. On completion of that loan deal he returned to Selhurst Park but unfortunately at the end of his contract in May 2015 it was announced that he would not be offered a new deal by the club.

At the start of the current season he joined St Albans City where he made 10 appearances in the starting XI with a further dozen from the bench.

Dulwich Hamlet would like to welcome Gus to Champion Hill and wish him every success at the club.
