The game quickly developed into a stalemate with Dulwich trying to pass their way through on a very difficult surface. Grays looked dangerous whenever they got the ball to the feet of winger Joao Carlos on the left whilst Dulwich sought to put Nyren Clunis in space behind left back Lee Flynn. Neither tactic was giving either side the upper hand for any length of time.
It was Dulwich who fashioned the one clear chance of the half as Erhun Oztumer wriggled free in the box and with the keeper advancing The Hamlet faithful waited for the net to bulge but Erhun dragged his shot wide.
.
The second period was an equally cagey affair with both sides looking to change the game with their substitutions. Grays introduced giant striker Brian Moses early in the half although he was to be withdrawn for tactical reasons before the end) whilst Dulwich introduced Ryan James up front in place of Paul Vines.
Whilst continuing to dominate possession The Hamlet could fashion only one strike of note as Ethan Pinnock was inches over after a determined run.
The oustanding save of the game came earlier on 57 minutes when Phil Wilson produced a brilliant diving save to claw out a close range header that looked to have the beating of him.
Another solid display againt a good Grays side but at the potential cost of further injuries as Nyren Clunis limped off whilst Mathieu Boyer did not appear for the second half having received lengthy treatment midway through the first half.
