Following the Grenfell Tower Disaster over in west London recently, we shall be shaking buckets for those in desperate need at a pre-season match.

On Tuesday 25th July the Dulwich Hamlet Football Committee shall be working alongside the Dulwich Hamlet Supporters' Trust to raise funds, with collection buckets being shook around Champion Hill, when we host Crystal Palace in one of our pre-season fixtures. Kick off is at 7.45pm

The Football Club will also be donating every penny raised from the sales of the '50/50 Draw' ticket sales to add to every penny donated by the fans.

Liam Hickey, Chairman of the Football Committee, explained:

"We are proud of the many causes we support, through our aim of being a socially-responsible Football Club. We were already working on doing something to help, so when Mel Hughes from the Trust suggested raising money, it was simply a coming together of minds."

Fellow Football Committee member Mishi Morath went on:

"Many of our fans come from all over London, and this disaster affected us all, from whatever part of the capital we are from. Many of us grew on Council Estates ourselves, so this feel much more personal, and it was something that was totally unnecessary."

Mel Hughes, from the Trust, concluded:

"The Supporters' Trust are more than happy to support the people of Grenfell Tower in their hour of need. Fans of Dulwich Hamlet demonstrated their generosity previously with the collection in aid of the humanitarian crisis in Calais and we ask again if they can do the same by sparing whatever change they can."
