Outside Bar Sales Postponed

Outside Bar Sales Postponed

Paula Griffin29 Jan 2016 - 13:38

Dulwich Hamlet are sorry to let fans know that due to issues raised by an outside party there will be a delay in opening the pitchside bar

Dulwich Hamlet were led to believe that the lack of a confirmed red line on our alcohol licence’s allocated area of sales, meant that the club would be treated with leniency by Southwark Council and that Dulwich Hamlet should progress - especially as we are simply trying to improve the matchday experience of all fans, and bring more revenue into the club in an obvious and fair fashion.

However - someone with a good knowledge of alcohol licensing and specific knowledge of both football grounds (and Dulwich Hamlet in particular) has taken it upon themselves to make life as difficult as possible for the club. They have flagged up a number of potential pitfalls. In short - someone wants Dulwich Hamlet not to be able to make sales outside, and have stated in no uncertain terms that they will be complaining on every available front if it happens.

Southwark Council have respectfully asked us to hold off and apply for a variation, which will take 30 days to process. This is something that we, as a club, shall be complying with.

Dulwich Hamlet are obviously very disappointed by this - extra staff and stock have been arranged, and Dulwich Hamlet were pleased to be making life as easy as possible for the fans. This, now, unfortunately, will have to be held back for the thirty days in question.

Dulwich Hamlet are very sorry for this inconvenience and are mystified why someone has made it their business to attempt to hold back the club - when it can really make no discernible difference to anything but the match day experience of everyone at the game.
