We are proud to be one of the first Non League clubs in the country to support the Rainbow Laces initiative...and it won't just be our players.
Our Supporters Team will also have the opportunity to lace up against their counterparts from the South Coast, at Belair Park, in the morning.
The initiative, was at the suggestion of the Dulwich Hamlet Supporters Trust, and everyone at Dulwich Hamlet had no hesitation in backing it.
Duncan Hart, head of communications with the DHST explained:
“It’s really great that Gavin and the team are backing the campaign. The Rabble are a welcoming bunch, and I know that we will also back the campaign on Saturday by picking up a pair of laces from the 12th Man stand. In exchange for a generous donation of course! By doing out bit, we can change the game and make it a more welcoming place for LGBT players and supporters.”
The proceeds from the laces will be split 50:50 between our 12th Man scheme and the Gay Supporters Football Network (which receives no formal funding).
Dulwich Hamlet committee member Mishi Morath said:
"This is a great initiative from our Supporters Trust. We shall be building on this later in the season, working hand in hand with them, showcasing more anti-homophobia initiatives later in the current campaign...letting people know that anyone is welcome at Champion Hill, regardless of sexuality, gender or race & abuse is simply not welcome here"
