I sit and wait, does an Angel contemplate my fate and do they know the places where we go?

When the final whistle brings down the curtain on the 46th league game of a campaign that seems to stretch back into the forgotten mists of time, then Dulwich Hamlet may have sealed their own fate in the battle for the last pair of playoff places. Or no as the case might be, notwithstanding the curious case of the Enfield player registration.

However this afternoon is one to put aside thoughts on things going on on other fields or in musty committee rooms and focus on the task in hand. Put quite simply if Dulwich win then the playoffs beckon, otherwise a whole host of scenarios arise.

For a time of late it seemed as if Tonbridge might become fallen Angels as they slipped ever closer to being dragged into the jaws of relegation. Fortunately the fixture list gave them the perfect escape route with home ties against now relegated AFC Hornchurch and Witham Town, Steve McKimm’s men racking up impressive victories 4-0 over the sorry Urchins and 3-0 against the Essex men.

With likes of on loan Dover Athletic striker Nathan Elder leading the line, the Angels have proved free scoring of late even if their defence has sprung a few leaks. Away to a Margate side struggling with a severe loss of form Tonbridge shared four goals with their Kentish rivals.

The goals were flowing again last Saturday away to Billericay. The Angels looking to heading for a comfortable victory that would kill of the threat of relegation once and for all. Goals from Mitchell Pinnock and Nathan Elder saw McKimm’s men 2 up and when Dee Okijie made it three with six minutes left it looked all over. However a madcap five minutes saw ‘Ricay bag three goals to level matters. Deep in stoppage time the Angels had the chance to undo all that as they were awarded a penalty kick but Pinnock’s kick was saved at fingertips.

This weekend’s game kicks off at 3pm at Longmead Stadium, Darenth Avenue, Tonbridge, Kent, TN10 3JF
