Tomorrow night we are at home at Tooting

9 months ago By Mishi Morath

It's the semi final of the Velocity Trophy and we need as many fans as possible to make the journey away from Champion Hill.

We take on fellow Bostik League Premier Division side Metropolitan Police, with the winners due to take on Billericay Town in the final.

There are good local transport links to Imperial Fields, our new-hopefully temporary-home.

It's not to difficult to get to, one of our regulars has kindly informed us that by train the various options are as follows...

From East/North Dulwich or Peckham Rye: Half hourly train service, leaves Peckham Rye at 00 & 29 past the hour, direct to Mitcham Junction (rush hour service only, journey time 21 mins Peckham Rye to Mitcham Junction), then take the tram one stop to Mitcham. Anyone wishing to return to those stations via Mitcham Junction has two options: train to Balham, change for Streatham Common, change again for train to Dulwich stations and Peckham Rye, reasonable connections, total journey time 38 minutes; or tram from Mitcham direct to West Croydon, then take the half-hourly stopping service to London Bridge via Dulwich stations and Peckham Rye.
From Denmark Hill: Take a train to Peckham Rye, or walk/bus to East Dulwich, then proceed as above.
From Elephant & Castle, Loughborough Junction, Herne Hill: Take the half hourly Thameslink train service to Mitcham Junction, then take the tram to Mitcham. Total journey time 24 mins from Elephant.
From stations on the New Cross Gate – Norwood Junction line: Half hourly train service to East Croydon, then tram to Mitcham. Journey time approx. 50 mins from NXG.
From Gipsy Hill / Crystal Palace: Train to Balham, change for Mitcham Junction (approx. journey time 30 mins) then tram to Mitcham.

Other public transport options are as follows:

In advance we would like to thank all of volunteers tomorrow night, old and new, who will be giving up their time tomorrow night-stewards, turnstile staff, match ball retrievers, programme sellers, '50/50' ticket sellers, '12th Man' bucker shakers... the lot!

We'd also like to thank once again, all at Tooting & Mitcham United for allowing us to share their home stadium, which is one of the best in our entire league.

Their usual bar & food outlets will be open, with food inside the ground being available from 'The Shack' just inside the turnstiles, with a tea back up at the back of their main stand.
