We are pleased to welcome two of our fans who have accepted the joint mantle of being our Official Club Photographer for the coming 2015/16 season

They will be well-known to many of the regular Hamlet faithful.

One is LARAINE BATEMAN, who has contributed to our official Club website here in the past.

The other is DUNCAN PALMER, actually a nice chap, despite his 'Psycho Dunc' nickname!

We asked them both to introduce themselves and mention a little about their love of photography...

Laraine told us:

"I have been supporting the club since 2010. I was a 'typical' Man. United fan from the age of ten, who had never been to Manchester let alone seen a live football match. After being asked many times 'Why don't you support a local club,' I discovered Dulwich Hamlet after I searched through the sports pages of the 'South London Press' in my late teens, however I never initiated going to Champion Hill until the pre-season friendly vs Crystal Palace 2010/11 season. I had literally begged my boyfriend (who is a Palace supporter) to take me to the game. I had continued to watch a few matches as I had enjoyed the experience of 'real' football, and eventually made some friends along the way which always made it a great incentive to go back.

Photography-wise I had always been fascinated watching my father take family photos and it was him that introduced me to a camera. In all honesty I hadn't really understood it, despite 'studying' the subject in my teens, until I had worked in photographic retail, where I was handling camera equipment and speaking to people on a day-to-day basis about photography. I do not 'do' photography professionally- I currently work in photo print service/sales- though I have previously taken photographs of Dulwich Hamlet matches and events driven by a passion of taking photos and supporting my local football club, my portfolio can be viewed via the DHFC Pitchero site. Duncan then informed us:

"I’ve loved photography since I lived in Japan in 2007 where I bought my first decent camera and discovered I have an eye for a good photo. Ever since then I have devoted more and more time to photography, which has now become a way of making a living. I feel very lucky to be able to do that. Photography has been a wonderful and valued creative outlet for me and I do it because I enjoy capturing moments in time and people’s lives. I also love to learn and develop as a photographer. My photography centres on travel, street photography, weddings and sports - cycling and football.

My first Dulwich Hamlet match was an FA cup preliminary match against Tunbridge Wells in 2010. Dulwich lost 1-0. Less than 200 people were there but I had a really good feeling about the club and straight away I wanted to go more often. I sporadically attended games until 2012/13 when I started to go to more and more. I got a lot more involved last season when I started to watch most home games and I got to know a lot of the regulars on the terraces. By January I was going to a lot of away games too! I like supporting Dulwich Hamlet because of the community and solidarity amongst fans, who are all so friendly and welcoming. The standard of football played is for the most very pleasing to watch, and I have a lot of respect for Gavin Rose and his team for their faith in youth and playing good football. The club’s community initiatives are also a credit to everyone involved.

I have really enjoyed watching the support for the club swell in recent years and the chance to work for the club as an official photographer is very exciting. It really is an honour to be given the chance to cover Dulwich Hamlet games and to convey and document the atmosphere, passion and character of this brilliant and unique football club and its players, staff and supporters."

Duncan also has his own website, showcasing his work, and if you want to have a look at them simply

Although helping The Hamlet on a totally voluntary basis, they hope to cover as many Hamlet matches & events as possible, and the FIRST place to look for their snaps will be here, on the official Dulwich Hamlet website!

But please note: While we will are pleased to work with them & showcase their Hamlet snaps...they are NOT our property & if you wish to use them you MUST contact them individually through their own websites.
