Dumfries batted first and posted a healthy total of 99. In reply the Dumfries bowlers used the virtue of bowling a good line to restrict Langholm to a total of 54 for a 45 run win.
Notably, in a first for the many years of cricketing experience that travelled with the team, it was a case of midges stop play. However to the credit of both teams, and umpires, play resumed under hats and hoodies. However there was a slight suspicion of a midge assisted run-out as the umpire looked longingly at the spectators hiding in the clubhouse.
