This match was split into three 15 minutes sessions. Uncontested scrums were the order of the day for these new boys, some who have never played rugby. The early stages of the first session saw both teams play an excellent brand of open running rugby. It would be 10 minutes before the first score and it was the Linlithgow prop who burst through to score. The same player would soon set up his hooker of similar size to bulldoze over for the second score. Dunbar had some excellent runs but the support was lacking and Linlithgow cleared the danger.
The second session was barely a minute old when Linlithgow added another try. Good play by their forwards saw the ball go quickly along the line to their number 14 who raced in to score. Thgis was soon followed by another try by their flanker. Play then settled down again and Dunbar did have chances but were not clinical enough. A final try after 25 minutes was the last score of the second session.
Dunbar were struggling to stop the powerful running of the visitors number 5 and it would be he who scored a brace of tries in the last session to complete the scoring.
The Dunbar coaches have a lot to work on but the potential is there once things have been worked on for a few weeks.
