East Lothian Festival of Rugby 7s 2012

Dunbar had boy’s teams at Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 years.
There were also two girl’s teams who did themselves proud as they have not played much rugby but stuck in.
The boys Under 14s team won all but one of their five matches against all the other East Lothian schools. Their only defeat was to a very good North Berwick side. In the cup final they again had to play North Berwick who again played very well to beat the Dunbar boys.
The under 16 boys got off to a flier beating favourites North Berwick. North Berwick went on to defeat Musselburgh who in turn beat Dunbar. This led to a three way tie with Dunbar losing out on tries scored. The boys met fourth place Preston Lodge in the shield final and won that by three tries to nil.
In the under 18 games the Dunbar boys went unbeaten in all matches winning all except against Knox Academy who they drew with 12-12. Both teams were unbeaten and met in the final where the Knox team won 19-7. Dunbar played the last five matches with just the seven players after injuries in the first match.
All in all Dunbar did extremely well and they should all be proud of themselves.

A big thank you should go to the organisers and volunteers who kept the competition relatively on time and well organised.

    Yes Davie
Dunbar School are a forced to be reckoned with in every age group ,a fact underlined today. Two runner up places and a third must mean that overall they were the strongest of the six schools attending. .Well played everyone.
