Second placed Camelon were the visitors to the High School. The game didn't start to great for us going down 2-0 in the opening 25mins or so. Both goals being avoidable. I hold my hand up for the 1st goal giving away a penalty! and the 2nd was a free header from 5 yards out following a set piece. It was poor marking from our point of view and that should never happen. After this I thought we competed well for each other for the rest of the half but without really creating much, however if that ball had fell to Gemmel on his left peg mid-way through the 1st half we might have just seen the net bulge. The 2nd half was much more of a battle which I thought we were the better team in forcing them back and getting a few corners and set pieces of our own. However camelon did come closest to extending their lead when they hit the bar following a counter attack, when we were pushing for a way back into the match. If big Kaan had scored when he has through on goal with 10 mins left I think there would have been a nervy ending to the game for the away side. However it was too little too late when Dave scored a consolation goal for us in the final moments. Overall I think they knew they were in a game having taking 4+5 goals off us in previous encounters. We were more than a match for them this time. Also it was great to see nearly a full squad there for a change competing for places - that's exactly what we need until the end of the season, lads pushing for places and making each other work harder for their spot in the side. It will be good to get another run out tonight instead of training when we take on Forth in a friendly. We'll get the match sharpness back up ahead of Saturday's must win match v Dunipace.
