DUNDAS VALLEY VIKINGS RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB CODE OF CONDUCT.
Dundas Valley Vikings Rugby Football Club outlined disciplinary precedures for season 2011.
This code of conduct is outlined by Dundas Valley Vikings Rugby Football Club in association with the ARU.
While all players and committee are subject to the ARU's Code of Conduct, the new Vikings Disciplinary Protocol applies to all players annouced at the start of each calendar year and any additional players brought into the Dundas Valley Vikings Rugby Football Club squad at any time.
The Protocol has also been agreed upon by Australia's Investec Super 15 Unions as a minimum standard for Australia's five Investec Super 15 sides.
The key features of this Protocol are:
1. Greater definition around minor and major disciplinary matters
2. An independent body to deal with major disciplinary matters
3. Penalties to reflect the difference between a minor or major matter.
" Ultimately being a Dundas Valley Vikings Player is an honour that carries obligations and a great duty. Vikings tradition and a dedication to a positive team culture should ensure all our players are able to meet those obligations."
" We have an ongoing program that is looking at these elements, but after a number of incidents in recent times we have moved to strengthen our disciplinary protocol. We intend to maintain the highest of standards." At all times.
Minor Matters- Dundas Valley Vikings Rugby Football Club Team Disciplinary Committee.
Minor matters which include failure to turn up to training or team activity ie failure turning up to Rugby matches, absence from a scheduled activity, failure to wear designated clothing etc. Will be dealt with by the Dundas Valley Rugby Football Team Disciplinary Committee.
This committee consists of: Vikings Team Manager, Vikings Committee Member and two Vikings players and the Manager of the Vikings Sports Club.
Penalties: Official warning, Extra team duty or a Fine.
Serious Matters-- Dundas Valley Vikings Rugby Football Club Team Disciplinary Committee.
Serious matters include inappropriate behaviour (including public drunkenness or physical abuse) , any illegal activity, sexual misconduct or attending team activities under the influence of any substance likely to significantly impair preformance or behaviour.
This Committee consists of: Vikings Team Manager, and a Teams Committee Representative from the ARU.
Penalties: Fine, Suspension (maximum one month),Termination from the Dundas Valley Vikings Rugby Football Club.
Other Points.
Examples provided of both Minor and Serious matters are not exhaustive. For Serious matters, players have the right to hearing in front of the Dundas Valley Vikings Rugby Football Club Disciplinary Committee.
Player will have the right to appeal decisions.
Repeat offenders under the Minor matters provisions may be referred to the ARU Teams Disciplinary Committee.
