About Us


The Business Plaza programme is a progression of sponsorship management - working with sporting organisations (mainly junior) and private schools to develop recurring revenue for those clubs and schools.

It evolved as a result of many community based businesses wanting to support their local sporting clubs and schools, but were not in a position to pay the higher amounts normally associated with sponsorship. The Business Plaza programme provides entry level to local businesses as advertisers with the advertising fee being shared with the sporting club or school, making the advertiser a form of sponsor and fast-tracking revenue for the club or school.

The founders of Business Plaza gained substantial experience working with volunteer and ‘not-for-profit’ organisations, developing sponsorship and managing the relationship between sponsor and club or school. They were the first specialist providers of sponsorship management services to this very important sector of the community, and have built a strong client base

How Business Plaza works



Each Business Plaza is unique to a club or school, and is linked from the club or school’s web site, with each member of the club or school receiving an identifier card.

Advertisers receive a listing under their business category, such as ‘Restaurants’, ‘Motor Vehicle’ or ‘Health & Fitness’ which links to, and drives enquiry to, their own web site. Each listing is for 12 months.

Each Business Plaza is marketed to its members throughout the year via the club or schools’ newsletters, point of sale promotional material and promotional flyers. Individual advertisers are profiled in the newsletters and flyers at certain times throughout the year.

Some advertisers provide discounts or special offers to members, which are promoted to members. Special offers to members help keep Business Plaza ‘Top of Mind’ with members who regularly visit their Business Plaza to check on new advertisers and special offers.

Retail advertisers are provided with point of sale promotional material including stickers and counter cards showing their business proudly supports the club or school, building strong association with the local community.

Advertisers in each Business Plaza are invited to that club or school's functions such as Season Launch, End of Year Functions, Home Games and Social Events allowing networking with other advertisers and members of the community, providing new sources of business.

The Business Plaza is about bringing buyers and sellers together in the local community; but not ALL sellers because you should have an advantage over your competitors.

We bring the two of you together
We don’t let all of your competitors in
You become a supporter of your local community.
We market you for a full year
Its surprisingly inexpensive
That’s it!

Members of local communities really do support those that support them, which makes this better than ‘Word of Mouth Marketing’ and more like a recommendation of your company from the local community.

If you want to make your advertising work harder for you in the local area, and want to help provide facilities for participating sporting clubs or schools, then the Business Plaza is for you.

As an advertiser you are in good company with other major, national and local advertisers. And it works!

Benefits of a Business Plaza for clubs and schools


Sporting clubs and schools constantly need funding to provide facilities and usually rely on volunteers providing substantial amounts of their time in fundraising programmes as an adjunct to sponsorship. This, with increasing demands on volunteer ‘Not for Profit’ organisations, results in volunteer burn-out.

It is becoming increasingly hard to find volunteers, and those that do volunteer are doing more and more while the costs of running a sporting club or school continue to increase.

Business Plaza provides a source of regular revenue for community groups without requiring the current committee members and volunteers to do more.

Business Plaza develops and manages all aspects of the Business Plaza, and is responsible for all associated costs. Community based organizations that qualify for a Business Plaza receive income as a percentage of all advertising charged and a percentage of commissions from certain advertisers.

In addition, members of each participating community receive bonuses or discounts when purchasing products or services from many advertisers in the Business Plaza, a substantial benefit seen as being provided by the sporting club or school to their members.

Business Plaza is proud to support Shoes For Planet Earth, a charity that collects used sports shoes from the local community and gives these shoes to people in need at no cost, throughout Australia and around the World.

In addition to this, Shoes For Planet Earth do weekly volunteer physical training programs for teenage girls in a juvenile detention centre as well as young men in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program.

With headquarters in Sydney, Australia, Shoes for Planet Earth is a non-profit organisation started in 2009 by people who love to run and want to give something back. Working together with local and international communities and companies they provide recycled running shoes to those in need around the world.
