Dunfermline U15s returned to league action after the holiday break welcoming Falkirk to McKane.

In a closely fought first half, play ebbed and flowed between the two 22’s before Jamie opened the scoring, latching on to a loose ball and evading the winger to score in the corner. Falkirk pegged the score back when missed tackles in the centre of the pitch allowed Falkirk to advance to Dunfermline’s 5 metre line and following a series of rucks they scored in the corner. The half finished with first Dunfermline on the attack with Ali just beaten by the bounce of the ball chasing a kick in the Falkirk 22, only for the visitors to then recycle the ball and after advancing up to half way managed to get the ball out to their winger whose electric speed saw him race up the touchline and in under the posts from halfway.

The second half saw the team continue to compete for every ball however Falkirk were getting the edge at the breakdown now and scored three further tries. In the final 5 minutes, Dunfermline saw their best spell of pressure following a break by Craig which took him deep into the 22 however despite recycling the ball and winning a number of penalties the Falkirk defence held firm and we were eventually turned over. Final score 5 v 29.

So a better performance and effort after Perth but it’s a second defeat for the team, who now face the trip to Dundee next Sunday. Davie will confirm the details of the match and training in the next couple of days.

Thanks to Falkirk for the game today, for everyone who came along to support the team and to everyone for the catering afterwards.
